Gilbert specialises in banking and finance, insurance and corporate and commercial. Before establishing the firm, Gilbert worked at another law firm in Burundi and prior to that he spent almost ten years in various departments with the largest Franco-Belgian bank, BNP Parabas Fortis, in Brussels and Rotterdam.

Gilbert holds a Masters Degree in Internal Audit and a Bachelor of Law Degree from the Catholic University of Louvain (Belgium). He is a Professor of Internal Audit and Intellectual Property Law at the University of Bujumbura and has run several training courses on behalf of various companies and organisations in Burundi.
